Drawing on my training as a UNC/Duke Rotary Peace Fellow and experience leading programs across institutions and countries, I help organizations and teams navigate disagreements, competing interests, and difficult conversations.
My approach starts with understanding what each party needs, what is causing the disagreement, and which decisions require agreement. From there, I support preparation, dialogue, and practical next steps.
How I support your work
Negotiation preparation
Prepare for discussions with partners, stakeholders, or colleagues. I help clarify your objectives, assess interests and alternatives, identify potential trade-offs, and develop a negotiation approach.
Conflict analysis
Examine the people, institutions, interests, and circumstances shaping a disagreement. I help distinguish immediate issues from underlying causes and identify opportunities for constructive engagement.
Dialogue & facilitation
Structure discussions so participants have space to explain their perspectives, address difficult issues, and work toward decisions. I help establish an agenda, clarify points of disagreement, and document agreed actions.
Peacebuilding & cross-cultural collaboration
Support projects that require cooperation across cultural, institutional, or community differences. I help teams consider local context, engage stakeholders, and address tensions that affect participation and implementation.
Training & workshops
Develop tailored sessions on negotiation preparation, conflict analysis, communication, and collaborative problem-solving. Sessions focus on situations relevant to your team and practical tools participants apply to their work.
What you receive
Depending on the engagement, deliverables include:
- A stakeholder map and conflict analysis.
- A negotiation preparation brief.
- A dialogue or workshop agenda.
- Facilitated discussions and a summary of agreed actions.
- Training materials and practical exercises.
- A follow-up plan with responsibilities and next steps.
My approach
Understand the situation. I begin with your objectives, the parties involved, previous efforts, and the constraints affecting the discussion.
Prepare the engagement. We agree on the scope, participants, process, and expected deliverables.
Support the discussion. I help clarify interests, examine options, and keep the conversation focused on the issues that require attention.
Document next steps. I translate the discussion into clear actions, responsibilities, and unresolved questions requiring further work.
